Acupuncture has been practised for thousands of years as part of the great tradition of Chinese Medicine (TCM) which has multiple health giving benefits. Today is it used throughout the world as a holistic system to treat specific maladies and to maintain overall good health or body and mind. Acupuncture can be used for a variety of purposes; to treat and prevent disease, to balance mood, to relieve pain, to increase fertility, to offer athletic performance gains and to generally improve body, mind and overall well-being. It is entirely safe, highly effective and free from chemicals, channeling the body’s ability to heal itself naturally rather than relying on prescription drugs. Acupuncture is viewed as being a complementary or alternative therapy, but its benefits have been proven and it is used by private hospitals and healthcare providers, along with the NHS. The NHS offers acupuncture to patients for a variety of health purposes, particularly in clinics and hospices for pain relief. Traditional acupuncture aims to treat the whole person rather than specific symptoms in isolation, it can be effective for a range of conditions please follow link to BAcC:

At an acupuncture treatment, I will insert and manipulate tiny, flexible needles at certain specific parts of the body. Most patients experience a little nervousness at their first appointment, but rapidly find that the sensation is relaxing and satisfying on a physical and mental level. It works by supporting your body to regain its natural equilibrium, regulating the flow of ‘qi’ which is its vital energy. Some people use it to treat specific conditions or symptoms, and others turn to it to maintain good health, to prevent illness, or to generally enjoy a balanced life.

What happens at a consultation?

I will take a full medical history and discuss your individual goals and desired outcomes before carrying out acupuncture or another requested service that I am qualified to practise – such as naturopathy, Bach Flower Remedies or Tissue Salts. Many of my clients like to combine these approaches for maximum effect. I always take time to explain everything and to ensure my patients are relaxed, happy and calm; answering all questions and ensuring they are completely happy with the service that they receive.
